| |  | Ronald Ross (188-G-83, college: Texas Tech) left Givat Shmuel but shortly found a new home, and not too far from there. Ross signed with Haifa Heat for 2 months to replace the injured BJ McKie.
- Ironi Nahariya is once again looking for a power forward after Philip Ricci (202-F-80, college: Oregon St.) decided not to return to Israel according to the club. Ricci is the third foreigner in that position to leave the club since the season started after following Ashante Johnson (203-F-76, agency: Edge Sports, college: Kansas) and Greg Brunner (201-F-83, college: Iowa).
- Guy Pniny (201-G/F-83, agency: Arik Krayn Services) will continue this season in the neighbour island of Cyprus, after signing till the end of the season with Keravnos. Pniny started the season with FMP in Serbia, but the sides didn't adjust to each other. The National Team forward is signed on a three years deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv, that will become effective starting the next season. |

| |  | The changes in Maccabi Rishon keep on going. After the nomination of Ofer Berkovic as the new head coach two players are now leaving the team. The first is the American guard Ken Tutt (185-G-84, agency: Strategic Sports, college: ORU) that arrived in Israel after playing in the second Div, in France. In eight games in the Israeli league Tutt averaged 8.9 ppg in 20.5 mpg and 2.1 apg. His best performance was against Givat Shmuel where he scored 18 points, and his worst game was Vs. Holon where he made 2 points in 18 minutes. His team mate the American center James Lang (207-C-83) was also released from the club. Lang like Tutt played eight games in the Israeli league and made only 3.6 ppg and 2.5 rpg. Hapoel Gilboa/Galil released one of the American players, the guard Aaron Nixon (188-G-83, college: Long Beach St.). Nixon came to Galil in the beginning of 2007/08, he broke his leg during pre-season but when he came back he did well. This season Nixon averaged 8.3 ppg, 1.3 asp and 1.4 spg. On the other hand, Givat Shmuel is using winter break to strengthen the team and the American Guard Lamont Jones (183-G-72, agency: Passing Lane, college: Bridgeport) might sign in the next couple of weeks. |

Amsterdam won all of their five games at the competition and deservedly claimed the prize. Israel did not manage to avenge the loss to Amsterdam at the group stage. The visitors lost their leader Omri Casspi (204-F/G-88, agency: Interperformances) with just eight minutes gone in the encounter and failed to deliver when it needed the most. The teams traded baskets throughout the opening frame with neither side able to take over. The scoreboard read 19:19 after ten minutes of action. The second term was a defensive battle with the teams combining for just 24 points. Amsterdam managed to secure a 32:30 lead at the interval. Amsterdam jumped to the biggest lead of the game late in the third stanza when they were up by 11 points 47:36. But Elishay Kadir (203-F-87, agency: Avi Zilberman) allowed Israel to enter the fourth stanza trailing by only 2 points. Amsterdam maintained the lead and succeeded in the highly contestant dying minutes of the game.
