Greek domination with Olympiakos's great win over Real Madrid-May 12, 2013
Olympiakos thrashed Real Madrid with 100-88 and succeeded the back to back to the European title with the European trophy remaining in Piraeus for another one year.
Coach Bartzokas, the best Head Coach in Europe once more check-mate Coach Lasso and after the first period where the Spaniards dominated in total (10-27) changed his team's roster and strategy, removed Vassilis Spanoulis (193-G-82) from the team and added Sloukas and Katsivelis and in an amazing and crucial second period where the reds balance the game after coming back with a solid 27-14 to end up the first half with 37-41 with the MVP of the Euroleague and top scorer of Olympiakos, Vassilis Spanoulis remaining to the absolute zero, but with Olympiakos finding some solid scoring from Sloukas, Law and Antic.

The third period was simply the beginning of the VSpan recital, the MVP of the competition enter the game and lift the team to the air with his 3 consecutive three pointers which one may say that they changed the momentum once and for all. The Spaniards couldnt score in the paint since Hines was dominating and together with Printezis and Schermantini were not letting any Spaniard to score while their parameter scoring was awful. Acie Law and Sloukas with Vassilis Spanoulis being more mature than ever with the solid coaching by Bartzokas were calm enough either to score or assist their team-mates Antic (10 points) and Hines (12 points). The score in the third period ended with 61-61 in total balance but with the Hellenes having the momentum 100%.
The triumph for Olympiakos took place in the fourth period where the team was amazing, Vassilis Spanoulis was leading the score and together with Acie Law took their team-mates and lead them to the amazing 100-88 over the super favorite team of Real Madrid.

Once more was proved that the money doesn't bring the successes (at least in basketball), in the game of basketball you need more than money, you need strategy, patient, gats, team-spirit and talent, all these ingredients were included in the repertoire of one team only in this final and that was Olympiakos.

The Hellenic basketball is dominating Europe and is not coincidence at all that the last five years have been totally successful for the Greek teams with 4 of five titles traveling to Greece (Panathinaikos X2 and Olympiakos X2). Against all odds and with a terrible crisis in the last four years, the Greeks are forgetting all their problems and the countries issues and are dominating in the European courts, giving at least some happiness to Hellenic nation.
MVP and top scorer of the final was Vassilis Vassilis Spanoulis whos achieving something that only Tony Kukoc achieved to be voted for a second consecutive season the MVP of the Final 4.

Top scorers:
Olympiakos: Vassilis Spanoulis 22 points and 4 assists, Acie Law 20 points 5 rebounds and 5 assists, Kyle Hines 12 points, 5 rebounds and 3 block shots, Kostas Sloukas 11 points, Pero Antic 10 points, Stratos Perperoglou 10 points
Real Madrid: Rudy Fernandez 21 points, Sergio Rodriguez 17 points, Sergio Lull 14
