Turkey responded with an excellent offence in the second quarter. They knocked down 30 points to take a 45:44 halftime lead. Croatia regained the lead in the third period. They secured a one-point lead before the fourth quarter. Croatia led by five points 78:73 with five minutes remaining. But Turkey denied the deficit and pulled in front for an 87:84 lead with 36 seconds left in regulation. However Dominovic drained a late triple to send the game into overtime. The third quarter belonged to the home side as Lomazs reduced to 44:41. Melderis and Adnam Omeragic (200-F-96) exchanged the shots for 54:47 at the end of the third period and Rauls Avenitis (180-PG-96) cut it to 56:52. Rauls Avenitis also managed to tie the game at 58:58, while Feikners made the same at 61:61. Latvia however could not take the lead and allowed Spain to win the thriller. Both squads added 22 points to their account in the second frame that brought 45:36 for Lithuania at the halftime. Tautvydas Paliukenas (192-SF-96) and Deividas Zemgulis (194-PF-96) opened the third period making 50:36 and Rupkus scored for 54:44. Both teams advanced to Division A for the next year. Although both teams advanced to the top division, their thoughts were still about the gold medals. Belgium started with 25:8 in the opening period and Kanda-Kanyinda scored for 19:10 early in the second. Montenegro meanwhile was far to give up and closed the half with 6-0 run that gave them 28:27 halftime advantage. Later on the teams exchanged the lead several times until Rayan Kayembe-Milongo (96) closed the third period at 40:36. He also scored five points in a row midway through the last quarter for 49:41. His free throws were also last in the game for the trophy in Bucharest. Rayan Kayembe-Milongo top-scored for the title with 19 points and Sami Demirtas (189-G-96) netted 15. The latter meanwhile ended up on the 6th position. It was a game of two different halves. At first Israel won the first period 19-17 and added 24-12 in the second frame. It seemed that 43:29 lead at the halftime was enough for Israel but Bosnia and Herzegovina did not give up. djorde Beronja (199-C-96) reduced to 52:49 at the end of the third period and Djorde Aleksic (184-PG-97) tied the game at 61:61 with 3 minutes to go. Portugal meanwhile finished on the 8th spot. F.Y.R. of Macedonia opened the game with 8-0 run and won the first period 23:15. Bakoch increased the lead to 10 points, while Cvetkovski scored for 30:20. Portugal managed to win the second frame as Mendes cut it to 6 points at the halftime. Mendes also reduced to 36:38 in the middle of the third period, but F.Y.R. of Macedonia closed a quarter with 13-2 burst. They added narrow 19-18 in the last stanza to seal the victory. Finland prepared better for the game and as a result they erupted with 26:8 in the first period. The Nordic side did not slow down and added 17-14 the second frame. Moreover Finland allowed the opponents to score 13 points in the third and the last quarters. They, meanwhile produced 22 and 24 respectively for the final result. The second half also belonged to the Danish team. They won the third quarter 24-22 as Jacob Larsen (204-PF-97) made it 74:60. The guests also won the last stanza 17-5 for the final result. It was a real thriller in the court and kept the spectators alive until the last seconds. At first Switzerland started with 19-12, but could not win the half. Bulgaria replied with 23-12 in the second frame and took 35:31 lead at the hlaftime after Alex Ouandie (193-G-96)'s shot. Mathieu Giroud (185-SF-96) later gave Switzerland 41:40 lead, while Alex Ouandie closed the frame at 48:47. The squads exchanged the lead several more times in the fourth quarter and then Nedkov scored for 61:61. Nedkov meanwhile scored the last basket for Bulgaria and brought a 1-point win. Moreover the second half also belonged to the Baltic State. Estonia won the third period 20-16 and finished the game with 28-17 in the last quarter. Holland - Finland 76-59 Netherlands won over the Nordic side at the U16 European Championship in Division B. The Dutch side grabbed a 76:59 win at the Classification Round for 9th to 12th Place. Tomorrow Netherlands will play against Belarus in the game for the 9-10 places. Finland meanwhile will take on Georgia in the game for the 11-12 places. Finland started the game better and reached 18-9 lead after the first 10 minutes of the game. Another three quarters however belonged to Netherlands. Levan Gogaladze (191-PG-97) and Astapenka exchanged the baskets at the end of the half for 39:32 lead. Georgia meanwhile bounced back with 20-19 in the third period and reduced to 6 points. Luka Zakradze (187-PG-96) cut it to 60:59 with 5 minutes to go, but Belarus pushed the tempo for good to seal a comfortable win. Kandybovic top-scored for the winners with 36 points and Salash collected 16 points and the same number of rebounds. Rubinshteyn followed them with 10 points. Denmark - Switzerland 95-49 Denmark marched past Switzerland in the classification round game at U16 European Championship in Division B. Alexander Von Spreckelsen came up with 15 points to lead the Scandinavian team. Denmark cleared off to a 20:14 lead at the first break. They poured in 33 points in the second quarter to clear off. Denmark accounted for a 53:23 halftime advantage. Denmark dominated in the second half. They built an insurmountable 34-point lead heading into the fourth frame. Switzerland scored just 8 points in the final period and had to surrender at the end. Mads Hansen (194-G-96) knocked down 14 points, while Jacob Larsen (204-PF-97) added 12 points for Denmark. Christian Tukama responded with 12 points for Switzerland. Luka Mandic netted 9 points in the loss.
Romania - Bulgaria 76-70 The hosts beat Bulgaria at the Classification Round for 13th to 16th Place at the U16 European Championship in Division B. Romanian won 76:70 and will play tomorrow for the 13th place against Denmark. Bulgaria meanwhile will take on Switzerland in the game for 15-16 places. Bulgaria surprised the hosts with 27:20 lead in the first period. Romanian meanwhile bounced back with 18-12 as Ivanov closed the half at 39:38. Romanian trailed for the majority of the third quarter, however Barbasi tied the game at 54:54. Ciotlaus later made the same at 63:63 and Caius-Gabriel Covrig (179-PG-96) closed the run at 70:63. Romanian managed to save the lead and won the game. Ciotlaus paced all the winners with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Cate had 15 points and 14 rebounds. Caius-Gabriel Covrig netted 13 and Kuti posted 12. Vangelov answered with 16 points in the losing effort and Vasilev nailed 12. Petkov poured in 11 points and Ivanov added 10.

Bosnia - FYR Macedonia 79-69 Lazic's team wins the battle over Magdevski as both players erupted for their teams at the Classification Games for 5th to 8th Place in U16 European Championship. Bosnia and Herzegovina U16 overcame F.Y.R. of Macedonia U16 79:69 and will play for the 5th place tomorrow against Israel. F.Y.R. of Macedonia meanwhile will face Portugal for the 7-8 places. Bosnia and Herzegovina opened the game with 21-20 and added 19-14 in the second frame. Both teams nailed 15 points each in the third quarter, while F.Y.R. of Macedonia closed the period with a 12-0 run. Magdevski reduced to 65:61 midway through the last stanza, but his team could not win. Lazic made the last four free throws for his team for the final result. Lazic top-scored for the winners with 32 points and 12 rebounds. Smajlovic nailed 11, while Garic added 10. Magdevski finished the game with 37 points in the losing effort. Blatt nailed three to close the half at 34:28 for Israel. Diogo Araujo (189-SG-97) reduced to minimum 40:39, but Portugal could not come closer. Artzi and Paz closed the third frame at 48:43 and Huber scored for 54:43. Israel added 25-21 in the last stanza to seal the victory. Hungary - Belgium 48-50 Belgium advance to Division A at the U16 European Championship. The team won the Semifinal game against Hungary 50:68 and will play in the top Division next year. Hungary meanwhile will have another chance in the game for the third place tomorrow against Sweden. The game was a real thriller in the court. At first Belgium won the first period 15:13 and then Hungary replied with 11-8 in the second frame. Nagy made a free throw at the end of the half to 24:23 halftime advantage. Belgium opened the third quarter with an 8-0 run and Mathieu Houdart (194-F-96) brought 31:24. Meszaros later reduced to 31:33 after three quarters. Antoni made two free throws early in the last stanza to tie the game but Kanda-Kanyinda closed the run at 44:36. Belgium kept the advantage and won the game. Mathieu Houdart and Kanda-Kanyinda top-scored for the winners with 15 points each, while Kayembe-Milongo added 7. Gyorgy Goloman (204-F/C-96) delivered 17 points in defeat and Antoni scored 11.
Sweden - Montenegro 66-71 Montenegro clinch promotion at the U16 European Championship Division B. The team will play in Division A next year as they won the Semifinal game over Sweden 71:66. The Scandinavian team will have another chance to advance tomorrow in the game for the third place. Sweden grabbed 18-12 lead after the first 10 minutes and had 5-point advantage at the halftime. It was not however enough as Montenegro dominated the rest of the game. They won the third period 22-14 and closed the game with 24-22 in the last stanza. Petar Popovic (188-PG-96) top-scored for the winners with 21 points and Nikolic as well as Dozic had 11 each. Milos Andelic (171-PG-96) and Novosel delivered 10 points each in a win. Andreas von Uthmann and Ludvig Hakanson (190-PG-96) finished the game with 19 points each in defeat.

FYR Macedonia - Israel 69-76 Israel beat F.Y.R. of Macedonia, however both teams miss the semis at the U16 European Championship in Division B. Israel outscored the opponents 76:69 for 1-2 record on the third place in Group E. F.Y.R. of Macedonia also dropped to 1-2 record on the fourth position. Israel opened the game with 21-17 and added 22-13 in the second frame. Holodov and Magdevski exchanged the baskets for 43:30 at the halftime. The third period however belonged to F.Y.R. of Macedonia. The erupted with 21-19 in the period for 51:52. Moreover Andrej Cvetkovski (185-G-96) brought 53:52 lead early in the fourth, but Israel did not give up. The final baskets from Blatt, Netanel Artzi (196-F-97) and Holodov brought the victory for the team. Blatt paced all the winners with 19 points and Holodov notched 15. Belgium stretched the lead in the second quarter. They established a 35:25 halftime lead. But Sweden slowly gained the initiative. The Scandinavian team cut the deficit at 9-point mark at the final intermission. Sweden went on a 12:2 run early in the fourth quart to narrow the deficit at a single point 54:55. They then used an 8:0 run to surge ahead for a 62:57 lead. Belgium could not recover as Sweden marched to the victory at the end. Bosnia and Herzegovina meanwhile dropped at 1-2 record and finished third in the group. It was a decisive game in the group and both teams needed a victory. Bosnia and Herzegovina won the first period 17:15, but Hungary replied with 18-9 in the second frame. Bosnia and Herzegovina replied with 18-11 in the third quarter as djorde Beronja (199-C-96) tied the game at 44:44. Hungary however finished the game with 19-8 and won the game. Kandybovic increased to 49:33, while the victory was not that easy. Bulgaria took a control of the third period and Iliev cut it to minimum 56:57 after three quarters. Romanian erupted with 30-10 in the second frame and never looked behind. They added 19-13 in the second frame and finished the game with 30-23 in the last stanza. Marius Ciotlaus (194-SF-96) top-scored for the winners with 27 points and 13 rebounds,while Covrig added 19 points and 12 boards. Tanasie scored 15 and Cate had 11 points and 10 boards. Mattia Cafisi (181-PG-97) replied with 25 points in the losing effort, while Anthony Polite (190-SF-97) and Mandic had 15 each. Fragniere added 6 points in a loss.

Andre Reinart (200-C-96) made two free throws to close the half at 31:25. Austria meanwhile replied with 14-12 in the third quarter and reduced to 4 points after three quarters. Estonia meanwhile needed a final push in the last stanza for the final 9-point victory. Russak stepped up with 14 points for the winners and Jurjens netted 10. Carlos Salamanca and Luis Camara came up with 9 points each to lead the winners. Portugal thus clinched the top position in Group D. Austria fell at 0-5 record after the loss. Portugal built a 17:8 lead ten minutes into the encounter. Austria stopped the rot in the second quarter. They narrowed the deficit at 5-point mark at halftime 23:18. Norway added 15-14 in the third quarter as the board showed 43:38 after thrity minutes. Norway led for the whole fourth period, but could not win after the forty minutes. Karlo Keca (180-PG-96) made a jump shot for 57:57 after fourth stanza. Norway however dominated the overtime and led for the whole time. Johannes Dolven (197-PF-96) and Tvethaug brought the final points for the winning side. Johannes Dolven erupted with 31 points and 15 rebounds for the first success in Bucharest. Israel - Sweden 52-65 Sweden jumps on top of Group A at the U16 European Championship in Division B. The Scandinavian team overcame Israel 65:52 in the first game of Day 2. Israel meanwhile just started the campaign and fell at 0-1 record. Israel started the game with 11-8 lead and scored also 11 points in the second frame. It was not however enough to win the quarter as Sweden replied with 15 points for 23:22 advantage. Sweden added 23-10 in the third quarter and grabbed 46:32 after three quarters. Israel won the last stanza 20-19 but reduced to 13 points at the end. Ludvig Hakanson (190-PG-96) was unstoppable with 29 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists, while Drammeh added 10. Denmark - Slovakia 61-64 Slovak Republic beat Denmark to tie both records at the U16 European Championship in Division B. Jozef Senohradsky (190-G-96) was perfect from the free throw line at the end of the game for 64:61 win. Both teams are with 1-1 record in Group B. Slovak Republic took 18:14 lead after the first period and added defensive 10-8 in the second quarter. Benzon and Janicek exchanged the baskets early in the third quarter as the board showed 30:24 for Slovakia. Oremus increased the lead to 10 points, while Gadeberg reduced to just 1 point at the end of the third period. Jakob Ravn (193-G-96) gave Denmark an expecting 58:57 win, but Jozef Senohradsky was perfect from the free throw line to give his team 64:61 victory. Jozef Senohradsky top-scored for the winners with 16 points, while Janicek collected 14 points and 11 rebounds. Jakub Meress (200-PF-96) and Oremus followed them with 8 points each in a win. Bulgaria - Belgium 43-75 Belgium spoil Bulgaria's start at the U16 European Championship in Division B. The Belgium side celebrated their first 75:43 win in Group B in Day 2 in Bucharest. Belgium scored the first 4 points in the game and took control in the start of it. They reached 21:9 at the end of the frame and added 19-12 in the second period. Benzouien closed the half with a jump shot at 40:21, while Ordane Kanda-Kanyinda (96) scored for 42:23 early in the third. Belgium added 25-14 in the third period and won also the last stanza 10-8. The winning side produced a 82:52 win as both teams are tied with 1-1 record in Group C. Bosnia and Herzegovina won the opening tip 5:1 and Smajlovic scored for 12:7. Gacic closed a 6-0 run for 18:7, while Gogaladze delivered two for 20:13. The second quarter was a nightmare for Georgia and brought 30-11 surge for Bosnia. djorde Beronja (199-C-96) scored the last four points for the winners to send the teams to the lockers at 50:24. It was a slow start for both teams. Portugal could not score for the first four minutes in the game and allowed the opponents to take 4-0 from the start. They closed however a quarter with a 7-0 run to take 11-10 advantage. Later Francisco Amiel (186-PG-96) scored four consecutive points to bring his team 25:16 at the halftime. Switzerland - Holland 66-55 Switzerland beat Netherlands in Day 2 of the U16 European Championship Division B in Romania. The Swiss side produced a 66:55 victory for 2-0 record in Group D. The Dutch side meanwhile fell at 0-2. Switzerland won the first period 13:11 and continued their push until the end of the game. They added 13-7 in the second quarter for 26:18 at the halftime. Franke meanwhile scored 5 consecutive points for Netherlands and reduced to 26:25. Mandic and Otoka meanwhile brought 43:34 at the end of the third quarter for the Swiss team. Switzerland posted another 23-21 in the last quarter to seal the victory. Mandic led the way with 17 points and Cafisi added 10. Giroud posted 8, while Beretta and Otoka scored 7 each. Finland reduced to 12:11 at the end of the first period and Henri Niemisto (194-G-96) gave his side 16:14 lead early in the second. Alanen and Elias Eerikinharju (185-G-96) scored for 29:28, while Johansson sent the teams to the lockers at 39:35. Sweden added narrow 16-15 in the third period and led 5 points after three quarters. They finished the game with 12-7 and celebrated the first win at the tournament. Hakanson stepped up with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Andreas von Uthmann posted 12. The teams exchanged the lead several times in the opening period as Belgium took 18:17 advantage after it. Denmark played better in the second quarter and led for the majority of the half. Jacob Larsen (204-PF-97) scored for 26:20 and Benzon brought 31:27. The latter also sent the teams to the lockers at 37:32. Slovakia - FYR Macedonia 47-84 Kristijan Nikolov (185-G-96) and Magdevski pace F.Y.R. of Macedonia over Slovak Republic at the U16 European Championship in Division B. They summed up for 56 points in a 84:47 win in the first game. Sarna nailed three in the opening tip for Slovakia but it was the only lead of his team. F.Y.R. of Macedonia won the end of the first period 14:10 and Magdevski scored for 19:12. Magdevski later scored 10 points in a row for 40:19 early in the third quarter. Andrej Cvetkovski (185-G-96) and again Magdevski scored for 51:25, while Samuel Hupka (184-G-96) reduced to 14 points. F.Y.R. of Macedonia finished the third period with 14-0 run and enjoyed 65:27 after three quarters. Slovak Republic replied with 20-19 in the last stanza for the final result. Kristijan Nikolov top-scored for the winners with 29 points and Magdevski nailed 27. Mitrov poured in 9, while Andrej Cvetkovski had 7. Bosnia - Estonia 82-83 The Baltic State grab thrilling win over Bosnia at the U16 European Championship in Division B. Estonia grabbed 83:82 after a great comeback. Bosnia and Herzegovina erupted with 31:14 in the first period but could not win the game. Estonia replied with a 7-0 run in the start of the second frame and Lill reduced to 31:21. Moreover Lelle scored for 37:32 and Norman Kabin (170-PG-97) closed the half at 42:37. Kurvits gave Estonia 44:43 lead, while Jaagup Russak (179-G-96) increased to 8 points. Estonia dominated the quarter and had 68:56 after three quarters. The picture however had changed again in the court as Bosnia pulled back to cut the gap. They tried hard to recover but managed to reduce to just one point as Aleksic scored with a buzzer. Jaagup Russak top-scored for the winners with 18 points and Kurvits added 17. Norman Kabin notched 14, while Lill chipped in with 9. Smajlovic finished the game with 20 points in the losing effort. Balic had 14, whilst Pilavdzic delivered 10.
Romania - Georgia 51-55 Georgia upset the hosts in Group C opener of the U16 European Championship in Division B. The team grabbed 55:51 in front of 450 fans in Bucharest. Although Romania scored the first 4 points in the game, they could not win the encounter. Georgia managed to post only 2 points after the first 5 minutes, but had 15:10 at the end of it. Lomidze nailed three in the start of the second frame, while Romanian team tied the game at 18:18 after an 8-0 run. Moreover Kuti closed the half at 24:22. The third quarter became decisive in the game and brought 20-13 for the Georgia that had 42:37 at the end of it. The guests kept Romanian scoreless for the first 6 minutes of the last period and took 48:37 lead. They added some free throws at the very end to seal the victory. Luka Zakradze (187-PG-96) led the way with 11 points and Levan Gogaladze (191-PG-97) notched 9. Soso Matchavariani (196-SF-96) delivered 8, whist Giorgi Gugeshashvili (197-F-96) had 7. Holland - Portugal 40-48 Third quarter brings Portugal success over Netherlands at the U16 European Championship in Division B. Portugal won the game 48:40 in Group D third game of the day. Portugal won the opening tip 5-0 and did not allow the opponents to score in the first 5 minutes of the game. Yannick Franke (185-G-96) later reduce to 12:7 at the end of the quarter and Liem brought the Dutch side 14:12. Moreover the Dutch side created a 14-0 run that gave them 19:12 midway through the second frame. Liem later nailed three to close the period at 25:16. The third quarter however fully belonged to Portugal. Brito tied the game at 27:27 and then Francisco Amiel (186-PG-96) scored for 36:29. Salamanca increased the lead to 10 points early in the last period, while Francisco Amiel delivered two for 43:32. Portugal saved a 8-point victory to seal the win in the opener. Hungary maintained the lead throughout the second quarter. They established a 33:23 halftime advantage. Hungary boosted the margin in the third term. They unloaded 28 points to take a 29-point buffer heading into the fourth frame. Norway conceded 29 points in the final quarter to suffer a heavy defeat.
